I am making a catalogue, that, at first, was going to have a slightly different layout that all our other documents. Somehow I made the change not on the master pages (it was the height of the main frame that was different) but on the body pages. Then I used that document to make all other documents in the catalogue. Now, the new layout is going to be used on all our documents, so I am making the change on the master pages instead. But every time I go back to the body pages, I get the message that "some of the body pages in xx.fm override their master pages's layout" and I can choose between Keep overrides or Remove overrides.

It doesn't matter wich one I choose, I always get the same question when I go back to the body pages from the master pages in that document. And there's no layout change when I choose one or the other...

How can I get rid of that message? I want the master pages to override the body pages, but fm doesn't understand that...

Check on each master page that it's exactly right. Sometimes there's a hidden frame or text container on the page that makes it different than the older pages, which generates the message. The easiest way to check this is to deconstruct the master by selecting and deleting containers until either a surprise reveals itself or there isn't much left. Then try to select all to see if anything hidden is still lurking.

Assuming this comes up clean, to see if you can't force the new layout, try doing an import formats, and check the remove override checkbox. (The number of Master pages is the same in each document, isn't it?)

If you still have a problem, try deconstructing a body page that uses the old format, to see if there's something on the body pages that is making a difference.
