I've been put in charge of the training for our FrameMaker 9 migration, so I am going through and learning my way around the application. I have a few questions that I know already are going to come up that I can't find anything about it in the user guide or elsewhere.

In the background of the application window, there is always a quick access type popup menu that links to premade templates, tutorials, etc. Is there a way to NOT have this display? It is making my nutty to always see it and we won't ever need it. Our authors work from a custom set of files that we (the document solutions people) create for them.

I looked in the .ini file and didn't see anything that seemed obvious to me, but I'm not exactly sure what I am looking for either.

Also, are there any plans to update the Adobe site soon with Frame 9 tutorials and a structured development guide? I can't find one in the included files and everything on the Adobe site is still for Frame 8.

Thanks in advance!

To get rid of the persistent welcome screen, you need to add a setting
to your maker.ini [Preferences] section:

DontShowWelcomeScreen=On
