FrameMaker 8 Mouse Scrolling at Book Level (on Windows XP)

Hello,

I could not find a recent post on this topic (as it applies to FM8), so I will put a new post out on this topic.

Does anyone know if there is a way (using the wheel) to get a mouse to scroll up and down the screen at the book level?

I am using a standard HP Tower with HP Laser Mouse and I can scroll at the document level, but not the book level.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Regards,

-J

Are you using the FreeWheel utility?

Hello Art,

No, I am not using any mouse utility at all. Do you have a good (up-to-date) link for this free utility, and does it work with Windows XP and FrameMaker 8?

Thanks,

Jim

James,

Before you download it, you may want to verify that your mouse is running with the latest drivers -- the fact that it works in some windows and not others would make me wonder.

If you do download Freewheel... I'm using it with XP and 8, but I don't know that I _have_ to -- it's just always been on my systems.

It hasn't been revved for ages, so I think the links that you get from a Google search are likely to still be valid: <http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/2060/freewheel.html>

James, I can confirm the same thing in my 8.0p277 on XP, SP2, the scroll wheel doesn't work in the book window.

I don't use Freewheel. I might try it just out of curiosity, but I'd say it's an FM issue.

Hello Art,

Thanks for the link.

I tried out the last revision posted on that website and it works great.

Now, I can scroll at the book level. Also, the Shift + Scroll still works at the document level.

Thanks,

Jim
